They say a pictures worth a thousand words. On my cruise to Alaska I learned something. Pictures or words doesn't do the place justice. It is beautiful there. I have tried to tell people all that I saw, but I can't. My sister and I went on a cruise to Alaska in May, 2007. Picture after picture was taken. We took the tramway up to Mt. Roberts in Juneau, there I saw my first Eagle. I just stood in awe, didn't have time to get the camera up because I was to busy looking at the graceful bird. We went to a salmon bake, I can close my eyes now and still taste the way the salmon tasted. I haven't had any like that since. Of course there was shopping, we both had family to bring things back for.In Ketchikan, we went to the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, shopped and went sightseeing. Then on to Skagway were we rode the train on the White Pass Scenic Railway and crossed the border into Canada, then back to Skagway were we did more shopping and sightseeing. We saw ice burgs and whales. The Sawyer Glacier was breath taking. There were bears and moose to be seen. There were lots of snapping photo's. But the pictures aren't like seeing the scene in person.
As you can see I still have trouble put the adventure in words. I can only say it this way, if you've never been to Alaska and you have the chance to go, do it. It will be something you will never forget and you will be glad that you went. I hope to go back myself. I loved my trip there. The people were wonderful. The sights breath taking.
